You've been asking for this for a long time, and we're finally very close to making it happen. The new Role Play Haven digital membership pass feature is coming soon, and it will allow you to download and store your RPH membership pass on any Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad) or Android device. The passes will include a new unique QR code and you'll be able to use this for scanning Game Session Tokens in the same way as using a physical membership card today.

Digital membership passes will soon be available for all members, including everyone who has already purchased a regular physical card in the current membership year. You won't need to have registered your physical card to be able to download a digital pass, it will be available for download at any time for all users who have purchased and hold an active (non-expired) membership.

Digital-only memberships

When you buy your membership for the 2026/27 year you will have a new option to purchase a "Digital only" membership. This will provide the same primary membership benefits including ability to book spaces on games and purchase GSTs at a discount, as well as enabling you to download a digital pass for scanning.

With this option, you won't receive a physical plastic card, and as a result you won't be able to get in-store discounts at our retail partners.

The cost of Digital-Only memberships is the same as regular (physical card + digital) membership except that you won't pay the £2 postage & packing charge, so overall there is a small cost saving by choosing this option.

Do I have to buy a new membership to be able to download a digital pass?

No - if you have a current active 2025/26 membership, once the feature is live you'll be able to download a pass immediately which will be valid until 30 September 2026.

When will the 2026/27 memberships be available for purchase?

1 September - if you buy a membership any time after that, you'll get a membership for the new year which will expire on 30 September 2027. Note that at this point the price of membership will no longer be discounted and so will go back up from the current £4 price to £10.

Why are we still offering plastic cards? Why not just use digital passes?

A lot of our members love the plastic cards. Many members find them particularly convenient for scanning rather than pulling out a phone, some members don't carry a smartphone into the dungeon, and quite a few collect the cards as if they were some rare magic item (looking at you, Managing Director V!). The cards can also be used to obtain discounts at several retail stores (see Membership).

As many of you are aware, we have had some challenges getting cards delivered to you reliably over the last several months. While we continue to work on improving the logistics of card delivery, the new digital membership feature means you'll no longer need to rely on receiving your card to be able to show your membership QR code.

When will the new feature go live?

We are aiming to put it live before the end of August.
